What is a nylon sleeve coupling?
A nylon sleeve coupling (curved-tooth gear coupling with nylon sleeve) transmits torque through crowned steel hub teeth engaging an internally toothed polyamide sleeve. The crowned teeth allow misalignment, the nylon sleeve runs without lubrication and electrically insulates the shafts. Selection is by torque, speed, bores, temperature and environment; the sleeve is the wear and replacement part.
