What is a linear bushing?
A linear bushing runs on a hardened, ground round shaft and allows axial motion with low friction. Ball bushings recirculate balls; plain bushings slide. Round-shaft systems tolerate some misalignment and are cost-effective, but are less stiff than profiled rail guides. Shaft diameter, tolerance, hardness and support type are key selection data.
